So now we have identified the negative thoughts and started to locate the resources we need to fight the depressive episode.
Next we need to suppress the negative mood
When I am feeling a depressive episode beginning and have reacted by taking steps to start fending it off through communicating. I also seek to suppress the moods effect by getting something to eat.
I don’t mean comfort eating. Here I am talking about the healthy option of eating something small like an apple, nuts, cereal bar.
This gives us a quick sugar boost which in turn can help raise our feelings.
Try keeping a little rescue pack in a drawer, bag or pocket ready for these moments.
Once we have reacted to the negative thoughts, located resources to help us and started to suppress the mood then we are ready for the Attack. Taking the fight to the depression.
